Continuing
to instil a commitment to environmental protection amongst
students in Hong Kong, GP Batteries' annual signature program
"GP Live a Green Lifestyle" School Competition
is now in its third year. The theme of this year's competition
was "Green Town planning in the 18 districts of Hong
Kong".
To
establish a better understanding of environmental protection
and urban planning, the competition program started with
a student seminar at the Hong Kong Institute of Architects
(HKIA). At the finale of the competition, 24 finalists from
the junior and senior categories were selected to showcase
their concepts and models of environmentally friendly town
planning to the judging panel, which consisted of the Chairman
and members of the HKIA Environmental and Sustainable Development
Committee, the Environmental Protection Department, the
Hong Kong Institute of Education and representatives from
GP Batteries.
At
the finale, Ms Josephine Ng, Assistant Marketing Director
of GPI International Limited, said the understanding of
environment protection amongst young people is important
for the future well-being of the community. GP Batteries
produces environmentally friendly rechargeable batteries
for which students are one of the key target end-users making
the school competition a great platform for GP to educate
communities on green issues and build brand preference amongst
target audiences.
