Stakeholder Support and Consumer Education From McDonald's

 

KN Shanghai and Beijing recently supported McDonald's China with the launch of their new nutrition and lifestyle website www.askme.com.cn. Designed to provide consumers with comprehensive information in the areas of food quality and safety, nutrition and leading an Active/Balanced Lifestyle, the website targets a wide range of consumers. A press conference and unveiling ceremony were held at China World Hotel Beijing to convey McDonald's relationship with respected industry partners such as the Ministry of Health, the China Cuisine Association, the China Health Education Association and the National Health Education Outreach Project Office, China Beef Association, China Dairy Association and China Potato Assocation.

Media turn-out was 100%, with 55 Beijing-based news outlets including print, online and TV. The event was also used as opportunity for McDonald's to introduce two of its most recent supporters, the recently returned 2006 Torino Winter Olympics bronze medalists in the pairs figure skating, Shen Xue and Zhao Hongbo. Both appeared as special guests of the launch and co-hosted the website unveiling ceremony, which was well received by the media as an excellent photo opportunity.
