In
early March, Ketchum Newscan Hong Kong and Beijing worked
hand in hand to support Timberland, the world's premier
icon of outdoor boots and clothing, in taking its first
steps into the Mainland China market. At a special launch
event at The Commune at The Great Wall in Beijing, senior
executives from the US, Asia Pacific and Greater China were
joined by more than 50 trade associates from Mainland China
and over 100 media from Beijing, Shanghai, Guanghzou, Shenzhen
and Hong Kong.
The
venue set the stage for guests to experience Timberland's
unique brand values in a spectacular outdoor environment.
A host of Timberland products, including the Classic "Yellow"
Premium Waterproof Boot, the 2006 Spring Casual Collection
and outdoor apparel, were showcased against The Great Wall's
stunning scenery. The great outdoors experience was extended
with a jeep safari for guests around the area.
The
climax of the event was the participation of world-renowned
Chinese movie star Chow Yun-fat, who led the guests in planting
trees as part of Timberland's
worldwide
commitment to building a better future for the communities
they operate in.
Michael
Harrison, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing
for Timberland, was very excited to witness another milestone
event in Timberland's expansion. "This is a great show
that has successfully showcased our boots, brand and belief
to our target audience in China," he said.
